Problems Women Have Shopping

Shopping in general can be a tedious affair, but then, needs must. Clothes wear down and get holes, colors fade, or things don’t fit anymore. I’ll admit, shopping for men is easy, it is not that bad. On the other hand, shopping for women is difficult. There are many problems women have shopping when for themselves or other women. Men may not understand this, but hopefully this will give you some insight.

Bras

One of the many problems women have shopping is for undergarments. Why? Because bras that are perfect for us are hard to find. First of all, not all women fit standard sizes. For some women, it may be difficult to find bras with their cup sizes unless they order from online. And if that weren’t enough, finding a bra with the necessary cup size with the needed band size is another obstacle. It’s just never ending. And it truly is a pain.

Let me also mention that there is another problem. Women have no choice but to spend an exorbitant amount of money on these annoying pieces of clothing.

Pricing

Bras are always expensive. But they are not the only thing that women have to worry about paying for. Sometimes I feel like the world likes to take advantage of us women because we don’t have a choice but to buy certain essentials that are basically necessary for our life. A couple of examples, not including bras, being tampons/pads and purses.

When it comes to purses, we almost have little to no choice but to carry one around with us whenever we go out. If you think about it… women’s apparel purposely make women’s pockets small so that we have to buy purses. I mean really, think about it. Phones definitely don’t fit on our jeans pocket now. Nor do all the keys that we carry. Which is why we now fancy key rings. You know, those things that look like bracelets, but made for keys.

So, tampons and pads… Something we have to buy almost every month. I know at this point things are changing. Tampons and pads are not the only things we can use now for our periods. We can use discs, cups, and period proof underwear. But all these things are not cheap. Cups and discs may require a monthly subscription. And the period proof underwear can be up to $35 or more depending on where you are looking. I know in the long run that it can save you money, or help the environment, but still. It hurts my wallet to see how much I pay for things like that.

I also wish to mention that if you are interested in discs or cups you can go to Flex; and if you are interested in period underwear you can look at Thinx or Knix.

Sizing

Of all the problems women have shopping, this one is definitely the most annoying one. Finding anything in the right size whether it be shoes or pants (especially pants). Shoes seem to require different sizes based on the brand. I always thought I was a 6.5 because the sneakers I wore everyday were that size, but when I went to try on different shoes my size was a 7. They didn’t even have the shoes in the color I wanted.

Now the pants. Pants may be to most difficult thing for women to buy because almost nothing ever fits right. Inseam too short, length too long, waist too tight, etc. I am short with a wide waist. If the length fits fine the waist does not. And if the waist fits fine the length is too long. It doesn’t leave me with many choices, and when it does it is not very comfortable. Which is why I use Stitch Fix to find me pants that fit.
