Baked Oatmeal

This is a really easy recipe. And I know I say that a lot, but this is a simple, easy to do recipe. This baked oatmeal is good when reheated too. So lets give this one a go!

The Details

The recipe only requires one baking pan 9×9 inches. For mixing, 2 mixing bowls, one for dry ingredients and one for wet. Or if you are like me and don’t care too much about that, 1 mixing bowl is fine. Prep time is less than 10 minutes. Cook time is 40-45 minutes. And the serving size is for about 9 people.

The Ingredients

  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 stick of melted butter
  • 1 cup milk

The Directions

Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Then grease your 9×9 pan. In a large bowl, mix all your dry ingredients together. Then in another bowl, mix the wet ingredients together. (Or mix the dry stuff in one bowl, then using the same bowl put in the wet stuff and mix some more…) Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Stir together well, then pour into your greased pan. Put it the pan into the oven for 40-45 minutes.

Once done, you can serve and eat as is. But if you are like me, and like extra stuff then read on! I have a very sensitive tongue when it comes to temperature so I can’t handle it when something is too hot. To cool it faster, and make it even tastier I add a spoonful or 2 of brown sugar to the top of my oatmeal and then add milk on top. I add just enough so that the brown sugar melts and the bottom of my bowl is covered in milk.
