What to Do When Traveling to an Event

There are a lot of things to think about when you travel. However, when you are traveling somewhere for an event there is so much to look forward to that you may forget to consider some things. So here are some things on what to do when traveling to an event. And this can be for anything. From Comic Con to a Yu-Gi-Oh! regional tournament.

Before Hitting the Road

Before you hit the road, or fly, make sure you check out what is in the area. When I say check the area, I mean the area around the venue of the event and where you are staying. You will want to see where you can grab a quick bite to eat if you expect to only have a small amount of time to eat, or if you want to get back to your activities quickly. This will help you manage your time well with knowing where you may potentially want to go eat and how much time it will take to get there eat and come back to the venue.

What to Bring/Buy

You may also want to go somewhere and buy a case of water bottles (and bring your own reusable water bottles) if you are expecting to stay for a few days. If not, and you are only staying for a day, then bring your own reusable water bottles. And make sure to bring your own snacks or food. Everyone needs to make sure they stay hydrated and fed enough to not feel hangry. And you won’t want to pay $5 for water bottles or $10 for nachos at the venue when you can buy a case of water for $3.50 or make your own sandwich for $5.

Ok, enough about that. If you planning to buy a lot of stuff when you arrive at your event, be it Comic Con, an Anime Expo, or a tournament of some kind, then make sure you either bring an empty bag/suitcase or know where a post office is. Some things like Giant Cards or an uncut Yu-Gi-Oh! card sheet may not fit in a suitcase. Thus needing to know where a post office is. When You Travel

When you travel it is best that you don’t go alone. For safety reasons and because it’s more fun that way. Try to invite friends or those who are interested in the same stuff as you. Like if you are into Yu-Gi-Oh! or Pokemon and some of the locals are planning to travel to a tournament in another city.
