Creating a Bucket List

There is more than one reason to create a bucket list. Creating a bucket list is not just for those who are old or retired. A bucket list can be for everyone. Let me explain.

Why Should You Make a Bucket List?

A bucket list is something that will help you create goals in life. These goals are something we would all strive for. And they can be short term goals or long term goals. Differentiating between these long and short term goals can lead to fulfilling more of what we want to do. Creating a bucket list will let us put to words what we want out of life. Whether we are young or old. And having a list like this will help us live more rewarding, fulfilling lives. It also provides prospective on where we are in comparison to where we want to be.

Short term goals are something that we can complete within 2 years. Long term goals are something we can complete within 10 years, but longer than 2. This can be an important difference. The difference between the two can let us know what we should be focusing on and where we want to put our focus. This is one of the reasons why creating a bucket list is not just for old people.

How to Create Your Bucket List

First thing’s first. Make a bucket list. Your list should not include your “to do” list on your bucket list. It should be filled with things you want to achieve or wish to do. Like owning your first car, or going on that vacation you always dreamed of. Maybe learning a new skill like surfing. It can be filled with stuff like that. I greatly encourage you to try to make it at least 30 items long. If you have more then great!

Once you have your list, you should organize it. Put anything that can be done in under 2 years on one side and anything you can complete between 3-10 years on the other. Or just put your short term list on one paper and your long term list on another. Then organize your list(s) by priority. What you want to accomplish the most. Then you’re all done. You have created a list , or 2, about what you want to do in life. The next step is the most important step. Doing it! Set out to do what is on that list. Don’t make excuses or say you don’t have the money. You do the work so you can reach your goals.

If you have goals to travel or own your own dream car, maybe move in to a house, there is one good way to save money while doing so. Or if you are shopping to travel then this money saving tip was made just for you. Just click here to see what I’m talking about.
